Lee Neville’s grandfather Sidney Neville passed away on March 16, 2010 shortly after the screening of Not the Way It Feels on February 28. Going forward, Lee therefore decided to add a dedication card on both the online and subsequent releases of Not the Way It Feels, and The Making of Not the Way It Feels, which itself was being edited together at the time. The idea was inspired by what Paramount Pictures did after Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry passed away, with the feature film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and associated Star Trek: The Next Generation season 5 episodes “Unification I” and “Unification II”. For The Making of Not the Way It Feels, to highlight the emotion he felt at the time due to the loss of his grandfather, Lee Neville used the Toby Lightman performed lyrics from Operator: “I only wish my words could just convince myself that it just wasn’t real, but that’s not the way it feels.”
